How to get to Riomaggiore
The house is in the center of the village and you cannot reach it by car because it is one of the characteristic colored houses located in the pedestrian area.
We therefore provide you with all the information if you arrive by car, train or ferry.
ARRIVAL BY CAR
Paid parking
When you arrive in Riomaggiore, on the left before the barrier, you will find the only paid parking lot (€35/day). The parking lot is only 150 meters downhill from the house.
Street parking
If the parking lot is full, you can either wait or, after unloading luggage and passengers, you can leave the car on the street above (1.5 km from Riomaggiore); to get down to the town, you can call a taxi (+393403565268) or walk down on foot.
Parking in La Spezia
You can also leave your car in La Spezia at a free parking lot located in Via XV Giugno 8 (Piazza d’Armi) which is a 10-minute walk from the station, and take the train to Riomaggiore which is the first stop. The train runs every thirty minutes and reaches Riomaggiore in seven minutes (train ticket costs €5).
ARRIVAL BY TRAIN
Leaving Riomaggiore station, take the pedestrian tunnel on your right towards the town center; as soon as you exit the tunnel, turn left and you will already be on the main street, Via Colombo.
ARRIVAL BY BOAT
Of course, you can also reach Riomaggiore by boat by taking a scheduled ferry from La Spezia or Portovenere. Disembarked in the port of Riomaggiore, go through a pedestrian tunnel and you will be on the main street, via Colombo.
