August 17 - Portovenere - The White Madonna

The entire seaside village lights up with over 2000 candle lights, torches and lanterns, while the sea lights up thanks to the boats that gather at dusk under the church of San Pietro and in the Byron cave. A suggestive evening procession crosses the illuminated ancient village.

first Sunday of August - La Spezia - Fireworks display

On the occasion of the grandiose Palio del Golfo, a grandiose fireworks display will be held at 10.30 pm on the seafront of La Spezia.

August 10 - Manarola - Feast of the patron saint San Lorenzo

San Lorenzo the night of shooting fireworks and fire stars: on the occasion of San Lorenzo, patron saint of the village of Manarola, sacred and profane meet to greet the night of shooting stars. In the evening the statue of San Lorenzo is carried in procession on the boat and fireworks follow.

Christmas - Manarola - The largest crib in the world

The village of Manarola has been known since 2007 also for the gigantic and wonderful nativity scene on the hill of the village which has entered the Guinness Book of Records. It is made up of 300 life-size figures and illuminated by 17,000 light bulbs scattered across eight kilometers of luminous cables: it occupies the entire hill of Tre croci which dominates the enchanting village of the Cinque Terre.
